My dad has held a very special place in my heart all of my life. I have always been a little bit of a "daddy's girl"...and at 40+, I am proud to say that I love him, respect him and am so blessed to have had such a wonderful father. I admire him because he is strong & courageous. He never quits and he never gives up. He worked many long hours to provide for us and he never seemed to mind. He is one of the best salesmen that ever lived! We used to kid him growing up that he could sale snow to the eskimos. He truly has a gift.
My mom is quite special as well. Growing up, she truly was one of those moms that knew how to "mother" you. She still trys every chance she gets! :-) I remember her getting up early to make our breakfast while we were getting ready for school and then, she would have dinner ready every evening for us to enjoy together as a family.
I have such wonderful memories from childhood of holidays, vacations, and special times spent together with the family. My mom loves Christmas! Christmas around our home was a production. We spent days decorating, baking, doing all of the fun things that make the holidays memorable. And, vacations were never complete until a few games of Uno had been played! Even now, when mom & dad come to visit, there is usually a trip made to the store first thing for a new set of Uno cards to enjoy while they are here.
I love them more than I can ever express in words. I am so blessed to have had such wonderful parents and I am thankful for every day that I have with them...even miles away. They are always close in my heart.

This year we purchased premium passes for the family to Disneyland. So, we have made a number of trips during the past year and each one of them has been great! We love Disney. Last week, we shared our last visit for this summer with Kayla and Cameron. It was such a great trip! Cara had cheer camp for part of the week, so she stayed behind. Christopher also decided that he had had enough of Disney, so he stayed behind as well and took care of our dog, Bella.
We began our trip with a stop in Hollywood. We visited the Forest Lawn cemetary and visited the grave of Liberachi along with a number of other famous people. We had lunch in Hollywood and visited Michael Jackson's star. The week went by too quickly. We had a nice stay at the Disneyland Hotel and the girls loved swimming in the Neverland Pool. They made many trips down the water slide into the pool.
We finished the trip with a visit to Neverland Ranch on the way home and dinner with my brother who is in CA on business from Colorado. It was such a great week and now we are counting down the days until school begins for the fall. As usual, the summer passed too quickly!
